What is Auto-Install?
Auto-Install is a new feature in v2.1+ of Device Update. The auto-install list is administered via the User Interface.
NOTE: Auto-Install is available to Premium Account members only.
If your ROM ships with SDConfig, you can learn how to integrate DeviceUpdate seemlessly on the FAQ.
There are two ways to use auto-install.
1. After a hard reset or ROM install. After doing a hard reset or installing a new ROM to your device, DeviceUpdate will auto-install applications that you have listed in the My Devices section of the user interface. Boot #1 will be the user customisation of the included ROM software. Boot #2 will prompt you to set up your Wifi, Carrier data settings, or establish an ActiveSync connection with your computer. On boot #3, DeviceUpdate will auto-install all applications listed in the My Devices part of the user interface for your particular device. This is seemless and VERY handy if your device hard-resets itself in the middle of nowhere! |

2. Manually within DeviceUpdate. After running the DeviceUpdate client, go to Menu -> My Devices -> Force autoinstall now. DeviceUpdate will then run the AutoInstall procedure and either install or update all software listed in the My Devices section of the User Interface. This is useful for updating batches of programs on the run, or installing many updates. |
