What is your server infrastructure?
When I first built Device Update, I never expected things to get so popular. Within a month I was serving 200Gb+ of applications. It's about then that you realise how popular something is - and you need to build something to cope. I sat down and wrote a complete geolocation based solution to this problem.
I know what you're thinking. Doesn't this guy speak english? In simple terms, when a user requests your application, we look at where the user is located. We then look at the list of servers around the globe and try to pick one that is closest to the user. For example, if you are in the UK, you will get all your files from my European mirror. If you're in the US, you'll get your files from a mirror in the US. All this is done transparently to the user - and you - so there is nothing extra to do. Just sit back and relax.
