AppToDate backwards compatibility
If you've used AppToDate in the past, you can continue to support it by changing the versionurl tag to a URL within the DeviceUpdate backend. When you update your application in the Device Update Administration interface, it will automatically push changes to your existing AppToDate users. Enjoy the best of both worlds, while doing half the work! All you need to supply is an external URL for AppToDate users to download your CAB file.
Efficient Client-Server communication
All communication between the Device Update client and servers is compressed and highly efficient. This gives gains of up to 450% in data transfer speeds. It also means that clients doing updates or installing new applications Over-The-Air download less data.
