This drive wont even burn Apple media correctly 3 times out of a 5 pack of expensive Apple DVD media. And forget that the system profiler says it can burn double layer. Not once.

Instead I use an external LaCie DVD RW USB 2.0 which refuses to give me battle of any kind. It truly is DVD heaven with LaCie. Even boots up an X86PC with Leopard on a P4-865 motherboard. This is why my next MAC is a PC, worry free without an Apple warranty.

Apple, after a hassle, did replace my superdrive under warranty.
Sent a letter to Apple (read it here: http://users.commspeed.net/konizerg/Apple%20Laptop.rtf). Some guy from Apple called. Somewhat aggressively, rebutted my letter, item by item. His bottom line (my words, not his) "Not many people are complaining, so we're not going to do anything about it.)
Sigh -- sad and disappointed.
